Our work is driven by a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and the enduring quality of beautifully made furniture. Founded by Ayesha Sowani, an AMUSF-trained craftsperson, Roads2Joya was established to celebrate and uphold the highest standards of upholstery and furniture making within the UK. In 2019, fellow AMUSF-trained upholsterer Stephanie Kinmond joined the studio, and together we continue to build on a shared passion for craftsmanship, innovation, and collaboration. Specialising in furniture fabrication and bespoke design development, we work closely with interior designers, furniture designers, architects, and private clients across the UK to bring creative concepts to life. Combining contemporary and traditional upholstery techniques with a deep understanding of ergonomics, comfort, frame construction, and longevity, we help transform ideas into beautifully realised furniture designed to stand the test of time. Collaboration sits at the heart of our practice. We enjoy longstanding relationships with interior designers, furniture designers, specialist makers, and skilled craftspeople, drawing on a wide network of expertise to realise projects of varying scale and complexity. Our work extends across private residential, hospitality, and commercial environments, with projects completed for clients including SaSa Sushi, Camberwell Arms, and Hausu. Roads2Joya is also recognised for its specialist work with shearling and sheepskin upholstery. Through years of experience and investment in dedicated tooling and techniques, we have developed a reputation as one of London's leading workshops for working with these distinctive and highly skilled materials.
